An incredible interception by Robert Morris defender stuns Utah State.
The game ended with Utah State emerging victorious with a final score of 36-14.
The Robert Morris Colonials' football team is not renowned for their play in the Football Championship Subdivision. However, the team gained popularity on Saturday night as they faced off against Utah State.
It was not a significant upset that caused the Northeast Conference team to be put on the brink. Instead, it was due to a late play made by Colonials defensive back Rob Carter Jr. against the Aggies.
With 11 seconds remaining in the half, Carter attempted to intercept a decent pass thrown by Utah State quarterback Bryson Barnes, which was aimed at Utah State wide receiver Grant Page.
Carter executed a one-handed catch while twisting his body and landing on the ground, resulting in a clutch interception and takeaway for the team, maintaining a 14-10 lead at halftime.
He played in 10 games last season, recording 22 total tackles.
The Aggies quickly overtook Robert Morris' lead and won the game 36-14.
In the win, Barnes scored two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Kyrese White led the team with three catches for 131 yards. Barnes replaced starter Spencer Petras, who exited the game in the second quarter.
