Diddy is facing charges of sex trafficking in an ongoing investigation.
Diddy was arrested by federal agents following the filing of an indictment by the US Attorney's Office.
The rapper, Sean "Diddy" Combs, was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and other offenses after a months-long investigation.
On Monday, federal agents arrested Combs, who was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
"Diddy's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated outside the courthouse on Tuesday morning that his client's spirits are good and he is confident. He added that Diddy is handling the charges in the same way he has dealt with every challenge in his life and is not guilty of the accusations."
"He's going to plead not guilty and fight this with all of his energy and might, with the full confidence of his lawyers, resulting in a long battle with a good outcome for Mr. Combs."
A source close to the situation informed Planet Chronicle Digital that the "I'll Be Missing You" singer was taken into custody in a New York City hotel lobby.
Diddy's legal team disputed the charges against him as an "unjust prosecution" in a statement to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Marc Agnifilo, Combs' lawyer, stated that Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. Despite his imperfections, he is not a criminal.
"Mr. Combs has been cooperative with the investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges. Please reserve judgment until all the facts are known. These actions are those of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."
On March 25, officials confirmed to Planet Chronicle Digital that Homeland Security agents had raided Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a federal human trafficking investigation.
Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, faced a barrage of legal claims from multiple women who accused him of sexual assault starting in November 2023. One of the accusers, Cassie, filed a lawsuit alleging that she suffered "over a decade" of Diddy's "violent behavior and disturbed demands." The matter was settled a day later outside of court.
In December, three more women made claims before New York's Adult Survivors Act expired.
In February, music producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones sued Diddy, accusing him of compelling him to engage in sexual acts with prostitutes.
He is facing several more sexual abuse lawsuits, which he has all denied.
In November, Diddy resigned as chairman of his cable network Revolt due to his legal issues.
The decision ensures that Revolt remains focused on its mission to produce significant content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black individuals in the country and African diaspora, as stated by the network.
