Since relocating from Los Angeles, 'Legally Blonde' actress Ali Larter has discovered a genuine sense of belonging.
In 2020, Larter relocated from Los Angeles to Sun Valley, Idaho.
As many Americans did, actress Ali Larter was restricted to her home during the COVID-19 pandemic, struggling to adjust to a new way of life in Los Angeles with her family.
Instead of being uncertain about life in California, Reese Witherspoon and her husband, actor and comedian Hayes MacArthur, decided to embark on a journey to find something more fulfilling.
"After a year of remote schooling, our kids were glued to screens and the industry was at a standstill," MacArthur told Rue Magazine. "So, we packed up the car and went on an adventure as a family. We started driving north." Larter added, "It was an opportunity to explore new places and create unforgettable memories together."
In contrast to the bustling activity in Los Angeles, the family chose to reside in the tranquil Sun Valley, Idaho.
"Larter revealed that a two-month trip to the mountains led to a permanent relocation due to the beauty and quiet grandeur of the landscape. Neither of them had previously lived in a small town, but they were drawn to the sense of community and camaraderie that existed there. They were thrilled to become a part of it."
Larter and MacArthur solidified their departure from LA by constructing a new 4,400-square-foot residence in Sun Valley.
"The mountains inspire and relax me," Larter stated of her new surroundings. "I often feel like I'm going 1,000 miles an hour in my life, but these massive rocks calm me down."
"Neither of us had ever lived in a small town before. People look out for each other. There’s a real sense of community here and we’re so happy to be a part of it." — Ali Larter
"When you're stuck in traffic because of a herd of elk blocking the road, the mountains can help ground you and slow you down," MacArthur joked.
Several celebrities, including Mark Wahlberg, Julia Roberts, Ana de Armas, Kelly Clarkson, and Candace Cameron Bure, have recently left Los Angeles for various reasons, such as safety, a fresh start, or to be closer to family.
