Tito Jackson, a member of the renowned Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 70, according to his sons.
The Jacksons, consisting of Tito, Jackie, and Marlon, have been performing together.
According to a post on Instagram by TJ, Taj, and Taryll, Tito Jackson of the Jackson 5 passed away at the age of 70.
With heavy hearts, we announce that our esteemed father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, has passed away.
Our father, known as Tito Jackson, was an exceptional man who prioritized the well-being of others. He was a legendary figure in the music industry and a beloved coach and mentor. His impact will be deeply felt, and he will always be remembered as a cherished member of our family.
"Our father always emphasized the importance of loving one another, and we want you to remember that, Pops. We love you," the statement concluded.
Jackson, the third of nine children born to Joe and Katherine Jackson, was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the legendary Jackson 5. The family singing group produced several No. 1 hits in the 1970s, including "ABC," "I Want You Back," and "I’ll Be There."
The Jacksons, consisting of Tito, Jackie and Marlon, have upcoming concerts scheduled for Oct. 25 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Nov. 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jackson’s death was first reported on Sunday by Entertainment Tonight.
