Despite the olive branch, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still not welcomed back by the royals, according to an expert.
The Duke of Sussex's 40th birthday was celebrated with well-wishes from King Charles III and Prince William.
According to Planet Chronicle Digital, while Prince Harry received a special surprise from his family on his milestone birthday, it was not an olive branch, as several royal experts claimed.
The royal family publicly acknowledged the Duke of Sussex's 40th birthday on social media for the first time since 2021, as reported by People magazine.
According to Planet Chronicle Digital, Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, stated that the celebratory posts do not necessarily indicate that peace talks are about to begin.
"Schofield claimed that Harry and Meghan are not welcome back as a team, and if Prince William has anything to say about it, they may not be welcome back at all. However, Harry could potentially get his foot in the door through his father."
Schofield claimed that "it is not something the royal family desires."
According to People magazine's sources, Harry's attempts to contact his father, 75, via calls, letters, texts, and emails are ignored. A palace insider stated that the rift with William, 42, is "very bad" but not "irreparable."
"Harry and Meghan are certainly not welcome back as a team. I would argue they are not welcome back at all if Prince William has anything to say about it… But Harry could potentially get his foot in the door through his father." — Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast
"Schofield stated that the royal family will maintain a distance from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle due to their health concerns and lack of trust in the couple."
Schofield stated that he does not believe Harry and Meghan will be accepted as working members of the royal family on a part-time or full-time basis.
"Queen Elizabeth II denied the opportunity for them to have a half-in, half-out life, but now they have created it for themselves through their faux royal tours. They want the royal family to know that they don't need their permission or approval when conducting trips like to Colombia."
Schofield stated that she wasn't taken aback by the royal family's goodwill, as they've gained from past experiences.
"Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace revised their social media protocol following Megxit and Prince Andrew's scandal, as revealed by Schofield. It was only after the first year that the family failed to wish Harry and Meghan a happy birthday online that this change was made, and it was deemed a "snub.""
"The royal family will only acknowledge the birthdays of non-working royals on milestone birthdays that end in 0, in order to avoid the drama surrounding some of the more well-known non-working royals and to prevent the family from having to re-live the Megxit and Jeffrey Epstein headlines at the same time every year."
The Hollywood Reporter published an explosive story on Friday about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's high staff turnover. An unnamed source described the duchess as a "dictator in high heels" who has reduced "grown men to tears." Well-wishes came days after the story was published.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a request for comment regarding the hiring of Josh Kettler, their former chief of staff, on a trial basis. It was reported that the decision to end their working relationship was "mutual," with both parties agreeing it wasn't the right fit.
According to Schofield, the royals are focusing on the health of the king and Princess of Wales, rather than the recent news about the Sussexes. In February, the king was diagnosed with cancer, while Kate Middleton announced in early March that she had successfully battled cancer.
"Schofield stated that the royal family remains focused on the health of the king and Princess of Wales. While positive news has been reported about Catherine and the king, there is still concern that their condition could worsen, and the family may be thrust into larger responsibilities if Prince William's family is affected."
According to Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner, the Sussexes face their own set of challenges.
"The issue with Harry and Meghan is that they lack trust in anyone at the moment," he stated. "Their challenging behavior could be a way of safeguarding their brand and personal interests."
"I hope the royal family celebrated Harry's birthday privately, as putting out messages on social media was just another PR move to show they are not responsible for the couple leaving Britain. In reality, they were."
According to an author, Meghan Markle has moved on from the royal family drama.
""In my opinion, the royal family should recognize the world's laughter at their antics and remember that it is the British public who fund them through their hard work and sacrifice. As such, they must act sensibly and unite as a family," Pelham Turner stated."
Hilary Fordwich, a royal expert, stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that the Prince and Princess of Wales are choosing to "take the high road."
"Fordwich stated that the social media posts of the royal family, although brief and unemotional, were not unexpected. This was because they adhered to the tradition established during Queen Elizabeth II's reign, where working royals receive annual birthday greetings, while non-working royals, such as Harry and Meghan, receive acknowledgement only for their major milestone birthdays."
"According to Fordwich, Harry and Charles had a phone conversation on Charles' birthday in November."
A friend of Harry's claimed to People that he now receives the "unavailable right now" message.
"The pal claimed that the king's health calls go unanswered."
During his birthday weekend, the prince prioritized his life in California.
On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a special appearance at the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament in Los Angeles. The event was in honor of Kelly McKee Zajfen's late son and benefited the Alliance for Children's Rights.
The Independent reported that Meghan, 43, was cropped out of a photo used by the royals to wish Harry a happy birthday, but a Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed that their photo wasn't altered.
During their Dublin trip in 2018, just after their royal wedding, photographer Jimmy Rainford captured one of two images for Getty Images.
Harry has had a strained relationship with his family and has seen his father infrequently since the couple quit royal duties in 2020. The couple cited unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British press as the reasons for stepping back as senior royals.
Since his rocky relationship with his family became public, the father of two has shared his story in TV interviews, a documentary, and his memoir, "Spare."
According to several royal experts, Harry and William have not been communicating since Harry left the royal family. In his memoir "Spare," Harry discusses their rivalry.
In the book, Harry claimed that in 2019, William insulted his wife and physically attacked him, causing him injuries. Harry also stated that Charles urged them to reconcile after the death of their father, Prince Philip, in 2021.
Harry's spokesperson issued a statement in May, suggesting that the king was too occupied to meet with his son when Harry returned to London to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
According to People magazine, while the brothers were present at the Fellowes memorial service at St. Mary's Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, they sat apart from each other and with different groups of their paternal cousins.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their two young children, reside in Montecito.
