Kate Winslet reveals she underwent testosterone therapy to boost her libido.
''Titanic' actress, 48, discusses the presence of testosterone in women's bodies.'
During a recent podcast appearance, Kate Winslet disclosed a personal detail about her private life after being asked for sex advice.
The actress stated on the "How to Fail" podcast with Elizabeth Day that we've all experienced moments in our lives where we haven't felt our best physically.
Winslet listened to a person discussing their issue of decreased sexual interest in their partner following weight gain.
Winslet added, "It's not always about weight; it could also be related to what's happening in your life at that time."
"Women may experience a decrease in libido due to issues with their thyroid or testosterone levels."
The "Titanic" actress, who is 48 years old, revealed that women possess testosterone in their bodies. When their testosterone levels deplete, like eggs, they are no longer available.
"Once it's gone, you must replace it, and that can be done, making you feel sexy again," Winslet said. "I know," she added without elaborating. Winslet has been married to Edward Abel Smith, her third husband, since 2012.

"She advised checking thyroid and testosterone levels to determine if they are affecting your mood, which is not your fault."
""As we age, our bodies can behave strangely, and this may be due to a dip in hormonal levels that affects our sexual desires," she explained."
Testosterone hormone may increase sex drive in some women post-menopause, but there is limited research on its safety and effectiveness in the long run, and it can lead to adverse effects.
"Typically, other therapies are attempted prior to testosterone treatment. These may include low doses of estrogen hormone and sex therapy counseling. Certain depression medications can also increase sex drive."
Winslet's representative did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
