The author claims that Meghan Markle was surprised by the disparity in treatment between Prince Harry and Prince William.
While Prince William and Kate Middleton resided in a spacious 20-room apartment, Prince Harry made his home in a smaller, two-bedroom cottage.
According to reports, Meghan Markle held a firm belief that Prince William was being treated unfairly compared to Prince Harry when they first crossed paths in 2017.
According to Robert Jobson's book, "Catherine, The Princess of Wales," Markle thought her husband "deserved more materially."
According to Jobson's book, released last week, it is understood that when Meghan and Harry visited William and Catherine's apartment for drinks, Meghan was taken aback by the difference between the brothers while they were still living at Nottingham Cottage.
Jobson wrote that he wasn't implying Meghan was jealous, but she was taken aback by the extravagance of Harry's brother's lifestyle in contrast to their own.
The royal correspondent and author reported that this may have been the start of the conflicts between the two couples.
Planet Chronicle Digital has reached out to Harry and Markle for comment.
"I am not saying Meghan was jealous, but she was really surprised how lavishly Harry’s brother was living compared to where they were living." — Robert Jobson
Nottingham Cottage was where Harry resided when he was introduced to Markle and Kate Middleton.
William and Middleton resided in a 20-room apartment after getting married, while their home had only two bedrooms and one bathroom.
In his memoir "Spare," released in 2023, Harry has discussed his past living circumstances.
The Duke of Sussex reportedly wrote that he was "embarrassed" about bringing Markle to his home, stating that Nott Cott was no palace.
In 2020, Harry and Markle moved to California after stepping away from their royal duties.
