Stewart denies rumors of discord in his marriage.
Since 2007, musician Rod Stewart and his spouse Penny Lancaster have been happily married.
Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart are denying rumors that their marriage is in trouble.
The rock star refuted rumors that he and Lancaster were at odds over their residency preferences between California and the U.K., stating that the reports were inaccurate.
"We wanted to clarify that there is no discord between Penny and me regarding our living arrangements. In fact, we are in agreement on where we should reside," he stated on Instagram.
We moved permanently back to Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit. Initially, we considered selling our house in L.A., but after spending a wonderful summer there with family and friends during my Vegas residency, we realized that it makes sense to keep it.
Two of Stewart's eight children reside in the Los Angeles home known as Celtic House.
After 27 years of marriage, the 79-year-old concluded his statement by declaring that he and his wife, Penny, were deeply in love with each other and there was no discord in their relationship.
Rod Stewart signed the note with, 'a very lucky man'.
In 1999, during his separation from ex-wife Rachel Hunter, the "Forever Young" singer and Lancaster crossed paths.
In 2007, they got married in Italy and have two sons, Alastair and Aiden. Stewart is also a father to six other children: Kimberly and Sean with first wife Alana Stewart; Ruby with second wife Kelly Emberg; and Renee and Liam with Hunter.
Earlier this month, Stewart was supposed to end his 13-year Las Vegas residency with a 200th show celebration, but had to cancel it at the last minute due to strep throat.
"Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this…there’s no disharmony in our marriage." — Rod Stewart
"I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long, but obviously not me as I can't work with strep throat," he said in the announcement.
I deeply regret any inconvenience caused and am grateful that we'll be returning in 2025. I hope to see you all there.
After the Las Vegas date, two more shows were canceled by the "Maggie May" singer.
Stewart discussed his impending 80th birthday with the US Sun last month.
"Although I know my days are limited, I am not afraid," he stated to the media. "We all must eventually pass away, so we are all in the same situation."
I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy, mate, easy.
Lancaster attributed her husband's long life to one key element in his routine.
"She remarked that it's family, particularly the younger generation, who provide him with strength and motivation."
She stated, "He's not your typical 79-year-old man. He's always on the move and can't sit still. I enjoy pampering myself with a facial or a massage. However, he can't do that as he can only have a massage for up to 30 minutes before getting up and leaving."
