Prince William adopts a shaggy beard, similar to Prince Harry, sparking excitement among fans for his "yummy new look."
Kate Middleton's cancer battle has been supported by Prince William throughout.
Prince William sported an edgy look rarely seen on royal men as he cherished the last few moments of a cool summer.
At the Sovereign's Parade at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell in Lincolnshire, King Charles II's representative, the Prince of Wales, displayed his new scruffy beard.
Prince William, who was dressed in his military regalia and received the Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps title earlier this year from his father, bore a striking resemblance to his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
During the event, William stated, "It is an immense privilege to be present with you today as I represent my father, His Majesty the King," according to the BBC. "Although I did not graduate on this specific parade ground, I did complete my flying training here, so I am familiar with the festivities that will follow."
Forty-eight Royal Air Force cadets and four international officer cadets from Jordan, Kenya, Pakistan, and Uganda completed the commissioned warrant officers course and modular initial officer training.
The official Prince and Princess of Wales accounts shared photos of Prince William's new appearance, which sparked a frenzy on social media as users rushed to comment.
"The beard is a must-have, according to one fan, while another provided a detailed checklist that included the beard, uniform, and Prince, securing their commitment."
Another fan wrote: "Your Highness the Prince of Wales, your beard is taking our breath away, please keep it."
"A very yummy new look!!" one admirer stated.
Prince William's new stubble resembled his brother's preferred facial hair, but it's likely one of the few ties remaining for the estranged siblings who were last together in August to attend a memorial for their late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
Since before the Duke of Sussex left the royal family and moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, Prince Harry and Prince William have had a strained relationship.
In his memoir "Spare," Prince Harry stated that the beard he has been growing for over a decade caused tension in his relationship with William.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, requested permission from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to keep his scruff for his 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle. He stated that it was a significant request as beards were prohibited in the British Army and he would be wearing his military uniform on the wedding day.
Prince Harry revealed that his facial hair served as a "security blanket" and his wife-to-be had never seen him without it. He wrote, "I didn't want her coming down the aisle and seeing a total stranger."
Harry wrote that when he asked William why he was bothered by their grandmother's permission, William replied, "Because I wasn't allowed to keep my beard."
"Harry wrote, "Ah — there it was. After returning from a Special Forces assignment, Willy had a full beard, and someone told him to shave it. He resented the idea of me enjoying a perk he'd been denied.""
Since his wife Kate Middleton announced that she is "cancer free" and has completed chemotherapy, Prince William has adopted a more relaxed approach to life and has embraced his new shaggy look.
"The Princess of Wales expressed her relief after completing chemotherapy treatment as summer comes to an end. She shared on Monday that the last nine months have been challenging for her family, with life changing in an instant and requiring them to navigate through uncharted waters."
Kate acknowledged that a cancer journey is "complicated, terrifying, and uncertain for all individuals" and expressed appreciation for the "basic yet significant aspects of life that many of us frequently overlook."
"We are deeply grateful for the support we have received and have found great strength from those who are helping us during this difficult time. The kindness, empathy, and compassion of everyone has been truly humbling. To those who are also facing their own cancer journey, I stand with you, hand in hand. Through the darkness, there is always a glimmer of hope, so let that light shine bright."
In March, Kate announced in a video that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.
