John Travolta shares which Australian actress he'd like to collaborate with.
Margot Robbie and Travolta crossed paths on the 2022 Academy Award red carpet.
John Travolta has his eyes on a new collaboration.
In an interview on the new podcast "Beyond the Sale," hosted by real estate experts Shane Spiteri and Kirsty Cunningham, Travolta revealed his ideal co-star is an Australian actress.
""Margot Robbie is my favorite actress and she starred in one of my favorite TV shows, 'Pan Am,'" he says in a sneak peek from the episode, as obtained by the Daily Mail."
He revealed that he met the actress at the Academy Awards in 2022 and shared how much he loved her on the show, saying "it was so good, you were so good."
Laura Cameron, portrayed by Robbie, was a flight attendant in a brief TV series before gaining fame in Hollywood with roles in "The Wolf of Wall Street," "The Suicide Squad," and "Barbie."
When they first met, Travolta inquired, "I heard you always aspired to become a flight attendant?" but was taken aback when she replied, "No! I always aimed to become a pilot!"
"Margot Robbie... oh my god, one can only dream. I just love her, and she was in one of my favorite series called ‘Pan Am.’" — John Travolta
Since the age of 15, the actor has been taking aviation lessons and has been a certified pilot since the age of 22. Recently, he received his license to pilot a Boeing 737. Using his knowledge of planes, he gave Robbie some constructive criticism on one of her films.
"He stated on the podcast that he pointed out an error in the movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood." Specifically, he noted that the Pan Am 747, which is featured in the film, began service in January 1970, but the movie is set in the fall of 1969. As a result, Leo DiCaprio's character would not have been able to fly to Europe in a 747, as it was not yet in service at that time."
Robbie's response to Travolta's mistake was not defensive, but instead, she was curious about how Quentin Tarantino would react to hearing about it.
""She was more intrigued by how Quentin would react to it rather than defending it, and her desire to become a pilot and her beauty made me like her even more," he said."
Travolta and Newton-John's friendship, which began with their starring roles in "Grease" in 1978, remained strong until her death in 2022.
"Olivia, your presence made our lives infinitely better," Travolta wrote on Instagram after her passing. "Your influence was profound. I love you so much. We'll reunite soon and be together again. Always and forever, your Danny, your John."
