Before the infidelity and secret baby revelation, David Grohl referred to his wife as 'future ex-wife.'
Dave Grohl and his spouse, Jordyn Blum, have been married since 2003 and have three children in common.
David Grohl, the Foo Fighters frontman, had some eerie predictions about his future with his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum, before they got married.
In a resurfaced interview from Q magazine, Grohl, who recently admitted to fathering a child out of wedlock, discussed the evening he met Blum while out with late bandmate Taylor Hawkins at The Sunset Marquis whiskey bar in Hollywood.
"In 2007, Grohl stated that Taylor was the "looker" and girls would often send him drinks. He then shared a story about a "bombshell" who approached Taylor while he was out of a Tenacious D session, wearing Vans trainers, no socks, dirty shorts, and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood."
Before he knew it, another woman (Blum) entered the picture.
"I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance!’ So, I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jackass. And by the end of the night, I was pissed, and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,’” he said. "She gave me her number, saying, ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’"
In 2003, two years after their initial meeting, the couple got married at their Los Angeles home. They have three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
On Tuesday, Grohl announced his infidelity through social media.
He announced on Instagram that he has become a father to a new baby daughter born outside of his marriage. He stated that he intends to be a loving and supportive parent to both his wife and children, and is taking steps to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
"We appreciate your thoughtfulness towards the children as we proceed together."
Although Blum has mostly kept a low profile in their marriage, her husband has occasionally shared details about their relationship.
In 2007, Grohl confessed to Blum that he had ghosted her at the start of their relationship during an interview with Elle.
"He revealed that when he first met his wife, they went on a few dates, and he decided he wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so he stopped calling. After three months, he had a revelation and called her back, and she was surprised to hear from him again."
Despite limited information about her past as a model and her current role as a TV producer, Blum has worked with her husband on several projects.
In 2002, Blum directed the Foo Fighter's "Walking a Line" music video and appeared in the video for the Foo Fighters' hit, "White Limo," in 2011.
She even served as inspiration for a couple of Foo Fighters' hits.
"In 2007, Grohl revealed to GQ that "Statues" was about him and his wife. He stated, "That song is about my wife and me." Grohl added, "To me, there's nothing more beautiful than seeing the headstones of a husband and wife side by side in a graveyard.""
In an interview with The A.V. Club two years ago, Grohl revealed that "Burn Away" was a "romantic prom ballad" that was inspired by Blum.
In a 2007 interview with The Guardian, Grohl stated that his family, specifically his wife and daughter, played a crucial role in keeping him grounded.
"If I didn't have my feet firmly planted on the ground, I wouldn't be able to [tour]. Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing," he said.
Over the summer, Blum and Grohl were seen at a Wimbledon tennis match together.
