The US denies involvement in Lebanon device attacks: "We want to see the war end" - John Kirby.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, hundreds of explosions were reported in Lebanon, with Hezbollah pagers and radios detonating.
On Wednesday, John Kirby, the National Security communications adviser, rejected several inquiries regarding the U.S.'s potential role in the blast that destroyed hundreds of electronic devices belonging to Hezbollah members in Lebanon.
Kirby stated that they were not involved in any way in the incidents that occurred on Tuesday or Wednesday. Additionally, Kirby stated that they had nothing more to share when asked to respond to the attacks.
Hours after explosions were heard in Lebanon's capital and other parts of the country, Kirby commented on the cause of the blasts being walkie-talkies detonating, as reported by Hezbollah's Al Manar TV.
On Wednesday, at least nine individuals were killed and 300 others were injured, as per Lebanon's Health Ministry.
On the day following the detonation of hundreds of Hezbollah pagers in Lebanon and Syria, at least 12 people were killed, including two children, and thousands more were injured.
The war in Gaza, which began on Oct. 8 after a deadly Hamas-led assault in southern Israel, is widely believed to have been carried out by Israel, with whom Hezbollah has been engaged in almost daily conflict since that day.
Hundreds have been killed in strikes in Lebanon and Israel, while tens of thousands on each side of the border have been displaced. Hezbollah stated that its strikes are in support of its ally, Hamas.
On Wednesday, reporters frequently questioned Kirby about the U.S.'s involvement in the attacks against Hezbollah members or if the U.S. had prior knowledge of the attacks.
Kirby emphasized that he had nothing further to reveal today.
"Kirby stated that the war must end and that all actions taken since the start have been aimed at preventing the conflict from intensifying. He added that they still believe that a diplomatic solution is possible, particularly in the region of Lebanon."
The escalation of attacks has intensified concerns that the intermittent clashes between Israel and Hezbollah could lead to a full-blown war.
On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant informed Israeli troops that they were beginning a new phase in the war, which would necessitate bravery, resolve, and tenacity.
Israel's army and security agencies received praise from Gallant, who did not mention the exploding devices.
On Wednesday, Hezbollah carried out three attacks on northern Israel, with at least one strike occurring after the recent Lebanon explosions.
