Hezbollah attacks prompt AOC and Sanders to take action against Israel.
Bernie Sanders introduced a pair of joint resolutions to prevent the United States from selling weapons to Israel.
An investigation into whether any U.S. resources were used in Israel's coordinated explosion of Hezbollah pagers is being demanded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
The New Yorker, a progressive publication, reported on X, formerly Twitter, that Israel's pager attack in Lebanon caused thousands of handheld devices to detonate across public spaces, seriously injuring and killing innocent civilians.
"The attack violates international humanitarian law and weakens US efforts to prevent a broader conflict. Congress requires a comprehensive explanation of the attack, including a response from the State Department regarding whether any US support was used in the creation or implementation of this technology."
A senior defense official confirmed to Planet Chronicle that Mossad planted explosives in 5,000 Hezbollah pagers months before Tuesday and Wednesday's detonations.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Wednesday that the United States was not aware of and had no involvement in the pager attacks.
He then warned Israel against escalating conflict.
"Blinken emphasized the importance of all parties avoiding actions that could escalate the conflict in Gaza, stating that it is not in anyone's interest to see it spread to other fronts."
Meanwhile, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., introduced a pair of joint resolutions to prevent U.S. arms sales to Israel.
In August, the Biden administration approved $20 billion in arms sales to Israel, which included weapons systems linked to the deaths of thousands of civilians in Gaza, as Sanders stated.
"To save lives, uphold U.S. and international law, and protect U.S. interests, Congress must act and end our complicity in Israel's illegal and indiscriminate military campaign, which has resulted in mass civilian death and suffering."
As per Senate rules, Sanders has the power to bring the resolutions to a vote as early as next week. To be passed, they must receive the support of at least 51 votes.
Hezbollah shifted from using mobile phones to pagers in order to evade Israeli surveillance of their communications. A day after Hamas launched its attack on Israel, Hezbollah declared war on the Jewish state on October 7th.
On Tuesday, 2,500 people were wounded and 12 killed in coordinated pager explosions. On Wednesday, 14 people were killed and hundreds more injured when walkie-talkies owned by Hezbollah members exploded across Lebanon.
Eight of the 26 people who died in the attacks were members of Hezbollah.
Since the 2006 war against Israel, Hezbollah, the de facto ruler of Lebanon, has accumulated an estimated more than 150,000 missiles aimed at Israel. In the past few days, Hezbollah has launched over 7,500 missiles, rockets, and drones into Israel.
Since the start of the Gaza conflict, the detonation of the pagers has been considered the biggest security breach by one Hezbollah official.
On Wednesday, Hezbollah declared that its resistance against Israel will continue, just as it has every day, with operations to support Gaza, its people, and its resistance, which is a different path from the punishment that Israel should receive for Tuesday's massacre.
One of the most formidable intelligence agencies globally is Israel's Mossad.
Since October, the Hamas-run health ministry reports that 41,000 Palestinians have been killed and 95,000 injured in the ongoing conflict.
