In the race for Pennsylvania's vote, Vice President Harris and former President Trump are currently neck and neck with likely voters, with only 47 days left until the November election.
In the Keystone State, a new Marist Poll shows that both Trump and Harris received 49% of the support from likely voters.
A majority of likely voters who expressed a preference for a candidate also showed strong support for them.
"According to Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, Pennsylvania is the most competitive and valuable state in the Rust Belt region for presidential candidates. Winning Pennsylvania may not guarantee the White House, but it significantly increases the chances of victory."
In Michigan, the vice president has a five-point lead over Trump, with 52% support compared to Trump's 47%, while in Wisconsin, the margin is very narrow, with the vice president winning by just one point, 50% to 49%.
According to Miringoff, Michigan is the only one of the "blue wall states" where there is a difference between Harris and Trump.
Trump's high negatives are driving the Michigan vote, with Vance not helping the GOP ticket, according to Miringoff, who cited the 53% of Michigan likely voters who view Trump unfavorably.
The most pressing issue for Pennsylvanians was inflation, with one-third stating it as their top concern. Although it was a top priority for Democrats nationwide, only 11% of voters considered abortion a top issue, while immigration (15%) and preserving democracy (27%) were more important.
In Michigan, the most significant issue for voters was preserving Democracy, while in Pennsylvania, the top issue breakdown was similar to Wisconsin's.
While both Trump and Harris face challenges with certain groups, Trump's struggles with women appear to be more significant, particularly in Michigan, where Harris leads him by a substantial margin among likely female voters. The gap between Harris and Trump among women voters in Michigan is 15 points.
According to the most recent Planet Chronicle Power Rankings, the close polls indicate that Trump may be losing his grip in two crucial states, North Carolina and Georgia, which were once considered Republican strongholds, are now considered toss-ups in the presidential race.
For the first time, Harris has surpassed Biden as the leader in the Planet Chronicle Power Rankings presidential race forecast.
