Harris' 'border hawk' narrative is challenged by Trump's former ICE chief.
Homan states his intention to reveal the accurate information regarding the border crisis to the American public.
The former head of immigration enforcement under President Trump is warning about the dangers of Kamala Harris' "open borders" policies and the reality of the crisis at the southern border, even as Harris claims she is the best candidate to address the issue.
Tom Homan, a Planet Chronicle contributor and former acting director of ICE under former President Trump, is planning to hold a series of virtual town halls with his nonprofit, Border911.
He aims to use town halls to inform the public about the repercussions of the ongoing crisis at the southern border, including sex trafficking and the smuggling of fentanyl into the US.
Vice President Kamala Harris is being challenged on her narrative about being tough on border security by a recent ad that stated, "fixing the border is tough, so is Kamala Harris."
The video released by Border911, which is led by experts on border and national security from both Republican and Democratic administrations, highlights past comments by Harris that the organization claims conflict with its narrative.
As a senator, she advocated for "starting from scratch" with ICE, decriminalizing illegal crossings, supporting "sanctuary" city laws, and comparing ICE to the Ku Klux Klan.
"Kamala Harris is trying to present herself as a border hawk, but her past as DA in San Francisco and her statements and policies reveal her true stance," Homan, who has worked under various administrations, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital. "The reality is, she is an open borders radical, and, along with Joe Biden, she is personally responsible for the current crisis."
The Republicans and the Trump campaign have targeted the border, specifically focusing on Harris' efforts to address the root causes of migration. They have linked the recent surge in border activity to the policies of the Biden-Harris administration, particularly the discontinuation of Trump-era measures that they believe effectively controlled the border.
The Harris campaign has tried to depict her as the ideal candidate for border security, while conservatives have portrayed her as a radical on illegal immigration, citing similar remarks from the video.
Last month, a Harris campaign adviser informed Planet Chronicle that her positions have been influenced by her three years of effective governance as part of the Biden-Harris administration.
Her campaign stated that she considers illegal border crossings unlawful and advocates for maintaining adequate resources to enforce our laws, prioritizing detention and removal for individuals who pose risks to public safety and national security, and ensuring compliance with immigration proceedings and decisions, including removal.
The Senate package that was negotiated earlier this year, which increases funding for the border, including ICE bed space and a mechanism to limit asylum entries into the U.S., has been backed by her. Conservatives argue that this bill will only serve to codify high levels of illegal immigration.
According to spokesperson Kevin Munoz, the only "plan" Donald Trump has to secure our border is separating mothers from their children and using xenophobic slogans at the Republican National Convention. He failed to reach a bipartisan border security deal because, for Trump, this has always been about campaigning on a problem, not finding solutions.
"As with everything involving Donald Trump, it's always been about his own self-interest rather than helping the country. The only candidate in this race who will prioritize bipartisan solutions to enhance border security is Vice President Harris," he stated.
Homan clarifies that he does not intend to dictate voters' choices in November, but rather to provide accurate information.
He informed Planet Chronicle Digital that his goal was to reveal the truth to the American public so they could make informed choices.
