The 2024 Democratic Party ticket has been tainted by accusations of stolen valor, a resurfaced DUI arrest, and a controversial tampon policy.

Tim Walz, who was chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, found himself in the limelight, receiving both praise and criticism from the media, prompting those unfamiliar with his record to question: who exactly is Tim Walz?

The latest special on Fox Nation explores the political journey of the former geography teacher and veteran who may become the next vice president if Harris wins the election in November.

The Nebraska-born Minnesota Democrat began his political career as a county coordinator for John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. He later won a close race against a 12-year incumbent in a 2006 House election with the help of unions, and served six terms in Congress before running for governor.

During the special, Planet Chronicle' Brian Kilmeade stated that although his district's color shifted from purple to red, his voting record remains solid blue.

According to Planet Chronicle contributor Joe Concha, Walz's progressive views, including gender affirming care and increased funding for public schools, are often criticized by conservatives as being too far-left.

He continued, "Most importantly, he believes that the US government should spend trillions to combat the climate crisis."

What does Walz bring to the ticket after defeating several top Democrats, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, for the VP spot?

He is a relatable Midwestern man who could attract swing state voters. He grew up in small-town Nebraska, served in the military, attended a state college, and became a teacher.

Gwen and her husband relocated to her hometown in Minnesota following their union.

Concha stated that this person could be highly relatable in the crucial states.

Some see his 1995 DUI arrest as a redemption story, while others view it as problematic.

JD Vance, Trump's running mate, is questioning the timing of Walz's departure from the military in 2005, which occurred just before his unit was sent to Iraq.

From high school teacher to the 2024 Democratic ticket: A look at Tim Walz’s past

As governor, Walz has witnessed several significant events of recent years, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests following the 2020 death of George Floyd.

He has been repeatedly questioned by Republicans about his liberal views on these topics, as well as on other contentious issues such as abortion and immigration.

After President Biden's poor debate performance, Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee and had to decide on her vice presidential running mate.

Walling stated that he had emerged as a contented warrior who would not overshadow the top of the ticket.
