Since the second assassination attempt against him on Sunday, former President Trump has been the subject of overwhelmingly negative network coverage, according to a report.
The MRC analyzed 69 minutes of campaign coverage on ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news between September 15 and September 17.
Although the thwarted assassination attempt made up 70% of campaign news on the networks, a considerable portion of that coverage was critical of Trump.
The MRC reported that over three nights, they received 21 evaluative comments about the GOP candidate, with 20 of them being negative, resulting in a 95% negative spin score.
Just hours after a suspected gunman was spotted, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt linked Trump's rhetoric to the attempted violence against him.

The former president, Donald Trump, is accusing Democrats of inciting political rhetoric, but his own words are escalating the danger of political violence in Springfield, Ohio. In particular, a baseless and vile accusation against Haitians, who are all legal permanent residents, is causing disruptions in daily life.
NBC reporter Garrett Haake stated that Trump has used inflammatory language against Democrats, and no motive has been disclosed for either incident, according to the MRC.
The MRC stated that these networks did not devote much time to the possibility that the attempted shootings may have been influenced by Democratic rhetoric portraying Trump as an existential threat.
"The three networks spent less than two minutes (1 minute, 53 seconds) out of 48 minutes of coverage on the possibility that Democrats could share the blame for the attempted shooting."
