CNN host Abby Phillip criticized Kamala Harris' interview with Black journalists for lacking specifics.
VP Harris' response to Abby Phillip's question about whether people were better off today than four years ago was challenged.
On Tuesday, CNN host Abby Phillip stated that Vice President Kamala Harris' interview with Black journalists on Wednesday lacked specifics, particularly regarding her response to a question about the economy.
Phillip started by stating that black journalists at the NABJ questioned Vice President Kamala Harris about policies related to guns and the war in Gaza, but her responses were often vague.
The panel on CNN examined the interview conducted by Kamala Harris with Black journalists, as well as Hillary Clinton's claim that it was a "double standard" to inquire about her policies.
Kara Swisher, the podcast host, stated that she did not completely concur with Clinton and pointed out that surveys indicate that individuals desire to obtain more information about Harris.
Harris responded to a question about whether voters were better off than they were four years ago, as Phillip played a clip of the interview.
During the worst public health epidemic in centuries, we came in after the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War, largely due to the mismanagement by the former president. We had a lot of work to clean up the mess. Today, we have created over 16 million new jobs and 800,000 new manufacturing jobs. The Black unemployment rate is now at its lowest in generations.
Phillip contended that Harris should have prepared a "brief and comprehensible" response to that question, but it wasn't what he had in mind.
Ashley Allison, a CNN political commentator, expressed her desire for Harris to mention the upcoming four years in her response to the question about whether Americans were better off under Trump's leadership.
"CNN political commentator Scott Jennings stated, "Answer the question." He pointed out that the same question was asked of her at the debate, and he noted that she ignored and never answered any policy questions during the debate. He wondered why she believed she did not have to answer to journalists who were asking basic questions of a presidential candidate."
Swisher said that Harris needed to be "specific while being vague."
Colman Hughes, a CNN political analyst, stated that Harris' strategy of keeping her answers vague was benefiting her.
According to Hughes, Kamala Harris' success can be attributed to avoiding headlines, providing vague but presidential-sounding answers to questions, and allowing voters to project their desired image onto her.
Hughes stated that although he desired to learn more about her strategies regarding Russia and Ukraine, Harris often gets into trouble when she answers impulsively, and she can be a gaffe-prone machine when she is unprepared.
Politico reported on Wednesday that Harris remained on script during the interview and did not provide any new information about important issues.
