Trump was a guest on Gutfeld's show for the full hour, engaging in the program's signature banter with Timpf, Tyrus, and Compagno. During the interview, he discussed surviving assassination attempts, the ABC Presidential Debate, and the criticism he receives from celebrities, among other topics.
Since its launch in 2021, "Gutfeld!" has never drawn a larger audience among both total viewers and adults aged 25-54, with an average of 4.9 million total viewers and 744,000 in the advertiser-coveted demographic.
On Wednesday, "Gutfeld!" had more total viewers than the season premieres of "Survivor" and "The Golden Bachelorette," making it the most-watched show in both cable and broadcast primetime.
"Gutfeld!" is consistently one of the most-watched cable news programs in America and ended August as the top-rated cable news program in the key demo.
All broadcast late-night programs attract more independents and Democrats than "Gutfeld!", according to Nielsen MRI Fusion.
On Wednesday afternoon, Trump was recorded at Planet Chronicle Media's headquarters in New York City before heading to Long Island for a rally. Since the 2016 election cycle, he had not appeared on a broadcast or cable late-night show.
