VP Harris' surrogate responds to CNBC host's criticism: 'Impossible to pin down'
Since becoming the nominee, Harris has been unequivocal about her values, as Raimondo pointed out.
During an interview on Monday, Gina Raimondo, President Biden's Secretary of Commerce, and Harris surrogate disagreed with CNBC host Joe Kernen, who accused Vice President Kamala Harris of avoiding the press.
Raimondo claims that Harris has been "crystal clear" on her values, despite Kernen stating that she has been avoiding questions and nothing has been made clear by her.
Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, sat for an interview with CNN's Dana Bash after waiting over a month to hold a formal interview. Harris has gone 50 days without holding a formal press conference.
"It is possible that her policymakers have conveyed her message in bits and pieces during her speeches or through print media. However, she has been evasive and unclear on many issues because she has not granted access to the public. In my opinion, the American people have a right to know. Do you concur?"
Raimondo said she disagreed.
This presidential election is unique, and she has limited time to campaign. She is spending her time interacting with Americans and following a demanding schedule. She is traveling extensively to connect with voters and secure their support.
The debate between Harris and Trump on Tuesday will be intense.
She stated that she sees in the woman a clear vision for helping businesses and small businesses, and that she is pro-business and pro-worker. However, she believes that Donald Trump's governance is characterized by great unpredictability.
Since the formation of the Harris-Walz ticket, Trump and Vance have conducted 39 interviews, while the Democratic ticket has only had six non-scripted interviews.
Besides the CNN interview, Harris recorded two radio interviews this week with Uforia and Rickey Smiley. The Uforia interview was aired on Friday, while the Smiley interview was originally scheduled to air on Friday but has been postponed until Monday due to technical difficulties.
