VP Harris receives message from Gold Star dad three years after Abbey Gate attack: "She owns this."
The Biden-Harris administration is criticized by the parents of 13 US service members killed in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The Biden-Harris administration faced criticism from grieving Gold Star parents on Monday as the country commemorated the third anniversary of the Kabul airport terrorist attack, which resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members.
A Gold Star dad who lost his son in the Abbey Gate attack refused to let Vice President Kamala Harris escape scrutiny.
"Mark Schmitz, father of late Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, stated on "Fox & Friends" that he believes she owns this just as much as Biden does."
"He's adhering to the policies that Joe Biden has introduced during his presidency, and it's evident that neither of them knows what they're doing. This terrifies me because we know we can't bring our children back," he stated.
"We want to see the military that is currently deployed – those families will never experience what we have gone through. It has been utterly disgraceful."
On Monday, Harris issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the attack by naming the fallen and vowing to uphold the duty to support and honor the troops and their families.
I mourn and honor the 13 devoted patriots who sacrificed their lives for our nation. My prayers are with their families and loved ones. Their bravery and selflessness represent the best of America.
President Biden made the courageous and right decision to end America's longest war. Our Administration has demonstrated we can still eliminate terrorists, including the leaders of al-Qaeda and ISIS, without troops deployed into combat zones. I will never hesitate to take whatever action necessary to counter terrorist threats and protect the American people and the homeland.
Shana Chappell, a Gold Star mom who spoke to Planet Chronicle on Monday, accused the current administration of being responsible for the death of her son, Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui.
"I hold Biden responsible for my son's death, so any comments I make to the Biden-Harris administration may not be suitable for broadcast," she stated.
"The Biden administration is entirely responsible for my son's death, and now I see how our country is heading, which is not what my son fought for. He did not die to witness our country's descent," she stated.
Another of Chappell's sons, consumed by grief for his brother, took his own life.
The National Security Council issued a statement in July expressing gratitude for U.S. service members.
"President Biden deeply cares about the service members and their families who have made immense sacrifices. He attended the dignified transfer of the 13 brave service members who lost their lives in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021, and three who lost their lives in Jordan earlier this year. The NSC spokesperson, Adrienne Watson, stated that the President believes that our country owes them a great deal of gratitude and a debt that we can never repay, and we will continue to honor their ultimate sacrifice."
