Tulsi Gabbard explains her endorsement of Trump over Harris: "Embrace peace and freedom"
Kamala Harris is deemed 'unfit' to be commander-in-chief by Gabbard.
Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman, revealed her choice to back former President Trump in the 2024 presidential race instead of Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Monday, at the National Guard Association of the United States' 146th General Conference in Detroit, Gabbard officially endorsed Trump, hours after the former president paid tribute to the 13 U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at Abbey Gate in 2021 by laying wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery.
"On "The Ingraham Angle," Gabbard, a veteran of the Iraq War, emphasized the importance of having a commander-in-chief who values every life and has the courage to exercise diplomacy, meet with leaders, and pursue peace, recognizing that war should always be a last resort."
"I supported President Trump today due to his leadership qualities and proven track record as commander-in-chief. In contrast, Kamala Harris has not demonstrated the same level of competence. The threat of nuclear war has increased under the leadership of Harris and Biden, bringing us closer to World War III."
Harris was criticized by the former Democratic 2020 presidential candidate for not contacting the families of those affected by the suicide blast three years ago.
Gabbard criticized Kamala Harris' leadership during her speech on Planet Chronicle, questioning whether she has apologized for the decision that led to the loss of 13 service members in an explosion and attack that was preventable.
In a 2021 interview with CNN, Harris stated that she was the last person present when President Biden made the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.
On the three-year anniversary of the bombing, both Harris and Biden issued statements, paying tribute to the 13 service members who were killed by name.
Harris stated in part, "I mourn and honor the 13 devoted patriots who sacrificed their lives for our nation. My prayers are with their families and loved ones. Their bravery and selflessness exemplify the best of America. I am deeply saddened by their pain and loss."
As a veteran, Gabbard stated that her choice in November is clear, and she expressed her love for the country, cherishing peace and freedom while supporting Donald Trump for commander-in-chief.
"The election is not about Democrats versus Republicans. It's about choosing between a president who stands for freedom, peace, and prosperity, like Donald Trump, and a president who attacks our freedoms, censors us, uses political retaliation, pushes us to the brink of war, and creates economic hardship for Americans across the country, like Kamala Harris."
