Trump suggests revealing running mate at the convention: "I think I'll announce who during the convention."
The GOP's national convention is scheduled to commence on July 15th.
Trump suggested on Thursday that he would reveal his 2024 vice presidential running mate in the second part of his interview with Planet Chronicle host Sean Hannity.
Recently, the GOP frontrunner's campaign advanced the vice presidential search process by submitting vetting documents to several prospective candidates.
According to sources who spoke with Planet Chronicle chief political anchor Bret Baier, potential vice presidential contenders who have received paperwork are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and JD Vance, R-Ohio.
Other potential contenders for Trump's shortlist include Senators Tom Cotton, Tim Scott, and Elise Stefanik, as well as Representatives Byron Donalds and Ben Carson.
"During the convention, I plan to reveal the identity of the person, Trump stated on "Hannity." "It's typical to make an announcement during the convention, and it will be an exciting time," he added."
Trump stated that some potential vice presidential candidates have effectively conveyed the benefits and drawbacks of the country's actions and current state.
"The current political climate in America is extremely dangerous. Our system of politics is more corrupt than ever before, and we must take immediate action to strengthen our elections and borders. If we fail to do so, our country will cease to exist. Respect for our president is crucial, as without it, we face a grave and imminent danger."
The former president is scheduled to attend a sentencing hearing in New York in mid-July, four days prior to the commencement of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Last week, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in NY v. Trump.
During the 2016 campaign, the 45th president revealed on Twitter that he had selected then-Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
Earlier this year, Pence stated that his decision not to endorse his former running mate should not be surprising.
