Trump lawyer states that he believes the former president did not receive a fair trial and outlines the next steps: "Not finished yet."
Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Trump's lawyer stated that he believes his client didn't receive a fair trial after being found guilty in NY v. Trump on Thursday.
Todd Blanche stated on "Jesse Watters Primetime" that the trial proceeded as anticipated.
"Did your client get a fair trial?" Watters asked.
Blanche replied, "I don't think so. We've been saying for over a year that we couldn't get a fair trial in Manhattan. We couldn't get a fair trial with the judge."
On 34 counts of falsifying business records, Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony crime. He will be back in court on July 11 for a sentencing hearing, just before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Trump's legal team is likely to appeal Judge Juan Merchan's decision to deny a motion to recuse himself from the case due to allegations of bias and his daughter's work as a Democratic consultant, as predicted by Blanche.
Our justice system demands that a judge who is biased or has the appearance of bias must recuse himself, and our records are open. We strongly believed that the judge had an actual bias, but even if it was just a perception of bias, we felt it was necessary for him to step down.
The attorney stated that he believes Trump's constitutional rights were violated "in many ways," mainly because of the gag order imposed on his client.
The guilty verdict was met with criticism from Trump, who called the trial "rigged" and "disgraceful" outside the New York State Supreme Court.
"He informed reporters that the true verdict would be revealed on Nov. 5 by the people. "We did nothing wrong," he declared, emphasizing his innocence. "I'm an innocent man, and it's okay. I'm fighting for our country and our Constitution.""
Blanche stated on "Jesse Watters Primetime" that it was an "honor" for him to spend the last six weeks with Trump, despite the verdict being guilty.
""It's not over yet, but it was great," he said."
