Trump complains about bias in ABC debate, prompting liberals to taunt him and praise the moderators: "You've lost"
Some conservatives suggested that Trump's complaints about the moderators were the reason he lost the debate.
After the ABC News presidential debate, liberals commended Linsey Davis and David Muir as moderators and accused Donald Trump of losing the debate due to his criticism of the moderators.
"According to Politico's Jonathan Lemire, appearing in the spin room means you've lost, and blaming the moderators also indicates a loss, as he stated on MSNBC's "Morning Joe.""
On Tuesday night, Trump and Vice President Harris engaged in a debate, with the latter being widely regarded as the victor. Following the debate, Trump spoke to reporters in the spin room and expressed his belief that he had given a great performance.
During the debate, both moderators checked the facts on Donald Trump but did not verify any claims made by Kamala Harris.
Dasha Burns of NBC News stated on Wednesday that Trump's immediate response to the debate was revealing.
The former president is going to the spin room, which is typically done when one feels they did not perform well in a debate. However, after claiming they were open to another debate, they are now saying maybe not so much. Instead of discussing their candidate's performance, they have spent time attacking the moderators and the network. This, she believes, is telling.
CNN's Abby Phillip praised the fact-checking by Muir and Davis.
Jeffrey Toobin, a former CNN legal analyst, praised Davis and Muir for their "outstanding performance."
On Wednesday, Alencia Johnson, a former adviser to the Biden-Harris campaign, told CNN's Jim Acosta that Vice President Harris appeared presidential during the previous night's debate and the moderators did an excellent job of fact-checking Donald Trump.
Dylan Byers of Puck News praised ABC for their "excellent work."
Bakari Sellers of CNN stated that Trump was "humiliated" by Harris during the debate, causing him to blame the moderators.
Medhi Hasan's news site, Zeteo, media columnist Justin Baragona stated that Democrats were similarly blaming CNN moderators after the July Biden-Trump debate, just like how they were blaming the moderators after the 2016 presidential debate.
"Losing is the consequence of whining about the refs," he stated on social media.
On Wednesday, Don Lemon, a former CNN host, shared a video on social media and expressed his appreciation for the moderators.
On "Outnumbered," Planet Chronicle contributor Marie Harf shared that a conservative writer confessed to her, "Losing is the issue if we're complaining about the refs."
Scott Jennings of CNN, along with other conservative commentators, agreed that it was not a positive development for the former president to blame the moderators.
"Trump's failure to make the central case in his op-ed for the LA Times is no excuse for his getting sidetracked and not making his own jump shots. He can't complain about the refs when he isn't making his own shots," he wrote.
On Wednesday, in a column for MSNBC, Brian Lowry stated that Biden and Trump performed better in the first debate than Tapper and Bash of CNN.
ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis skillfully navigated the tightrope of modern journalism during Tuesday's debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Notably, they fact-checked Trump in real-time, despite his reputation for a casual relationship with the truth.
