The new 'God's Not Dead' film motivates Christians to speak up at the polls.
The film 'God's Not Dead: In God We Trust' will hit theaters on September 12.
The latest installment in the "God's Not Dead" series motivates Christians to boldly defend their convictions and engage in political activism.
A pastor's faith is put to the test when he runs for Congress against a senator who is against religion in the upcoming movie "God's Not Dead: In God We Trust," hitting theaters on September 12.
The film's synopsis states that Reverend David Hill struggles with the question of whether God still has a role in politics during a period of intense political, social, and spiritual upheaval.
Michael Scott, the film's producer, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the movie examines the intersection of faith and politics, and encourages Christians to speak up despite opposition.
Scott stated that over the past few years, there has been a trend of individuals feeling hesitant to openly discuss their religious beliefs in public.
"The stigma surrounding faith has been present, but now people are becoming more open about discussing their beliefs and how they impact their lives. This is evident in the character of David, as well," he stated.
Sometimes, we all feel defeated and like giving up, but those who persist see the best outcomes. God values perseverance, too.
The movie highlights the large number of Christians who abstain from voting in elections and urges believers to break this pattern.
""We should vote for the candidates that best align with our beliefs," Scott said."
"As a Christian, I believe it's crucial to let our voices and votes be heard, especially in today's politically divided world. While I don't think any one man can fix the divide, I believe that by placing God at the center, we can see a difference."
"Scott emphasized in a press release that complacency can undermine our liberties, freedom, and faith if we do not actively defend and uphold them. To truly believe in a faithful God who is 'good all the time,' we must be willing to speak out and remain steadfast in our beliefs, even in the face of significant risks and opposition."
The cast of the film includes David A. R. White as Reverend David Hill, along with supporting actors Isaiah Washington, Dean Cain, Samaire Armstrong, Ray Wise, Scott Baio, and Charlene Tilton. Additionally, the film features guest appearances by Governor Mike Huckabee, Raymond Arroyo, and Grammy Award-Winning band Newsboys.
In the upcoming months, audiences can anticipate the release of more films from Great American Pure Flix and Pinnacle Peak Pictures, the faith-based production company and studio led by Scott.
In October, the film "Average Joe" will be released, focusing on Christian high school football coach Joe Kennedy, who was dismissed for praying on the field and brought his case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
An Easter release is planned for a religious movie inspired by "The Last Supper."
