The Gold Star mom claims that the Biden administration insulted her by stating that Trump politicized the Arlington visit.
Last week, Trump paid a visit to Arlington National Cemetery.
The Biden-Harris administration was criticized by Gold Star mom Jaclyn Schmitz for refusing to allow her and other Gold Star parents to pay tribute to their fallen children in a memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.
"Schmitz expressed his frustration with the administration, stating, "It's just another spit in the face. Another slap in the face. I'm absolutely so frustrated with this administration. First, they don't even acknowledge that our kids even died on their watch. Then to spit in our face and say that Donald Trump was politicizing this when it was us, the families, that had invited him.""
Last week, Trump paid tribute to 13 fallen service members at Arlington Cemetery, who were killed in a terrorist attack during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan on Aug. 26, 2021.
During the event, a Trump campaign photographer recorded footage in a restricted area that prohibits political activity, and a U.S. Army spokesperson stated that a cemetery staffer was "abruptly pushed aside" during the event. After the event, media outlets such as NPR and the Associated Press reported on these incidents.
Schmitz stated that we were all completely enraged upon learning about the controversy surrounding Trump's visit.
She stated that the White House and Biden and Harris were invited, but they opted not to attend.
Schmitz stated that she has never been contacted by either Biden or Harris since taking office when asked about communication from the White House.
"Schmitz stated that they had not received any communication from either of the individuals in question, not even after three years since their children were killed by their administration. The words spoken by the individual during the debate were particularly hurtful."
She stated that no service member had died during his presidency.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from the Harris campaign when requested for a comment.
