ABC News has come under fire from a pro-life organization for hosting the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump.

On Wednesday, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America wrote a letter to ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic and debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, requesting a correction and meeting with abortion survivors regarding a viral moment where Davis fact-checked Trump.

The ABC News Presidential Debate included network moderator Linsey Davis challenging former President Trump's claim that certain states permit the murder of infants post-birth, as Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America president Marjorie Dannenfelser stated in a letter obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital.

During the debate, Trump brought up Northam's controversial comments about third-trimester abortions, but Davis quickly fact-checked him. Northam had previously stated that in rare cases, a baby could be born alive and a discussion would occur between doctors and the mother.

If the mother and family wished for the infant to be resuscitated, a discussion would occur between the physicians and the mother, as Northam stated in 2019.

Davis swiftly rebuked Trump for his reference to Northam during the debate.

No state in this country permits the killing of a baby following its birth, according to Davis.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America alleges that the ABC moderator made a mistake and should set the record straight.

Dannenfelser wrote that her statement is 100% inaccurate, as it fails to acknowledge the reality of babies who survive failed, late-term abortions but are denied basic medical care and left to die.

"We are requesting a prompt correction from Ms. Davis and ABC News regarding the undeniable fact that babies are born in this country after failed abortions, as evidenced by the following facts. A correction from the network and the debate moderators is crucial in acknowledging this reality. We also urge ABC to engage with abortion survivors who serve as a living proof of the necessity for born-alive protections."

The pro-life advocate presented several arguments to support the demand for a correction, including "numerous instances of babies surviving after unsuccessful abortions" and a CDC estimate that "from 2003 to 2014, approximately 143 infants died after being born alive following failed abortions."

During Tim Walz's time as governor of Minnesota, eight infants who survived abortion attempts died, according to a report from The Dispatch, a center-right outlet.

As a U.S. senator, Kamala Harris voted against protections for babies born alive after failed abortions. Additionally, her running mate Tim Walz issued a public apology for accidentally voting for the same legislation after previously voting against it.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life president requested an in-person meeting with ABC executives to discuss directly with abortion survivors.

Numerous fact-checks published after the debate slammed Trump for his remarks on abortion.

"Abortions 'after birth' are illegal in all 50 states, and Harris and Walz have never supported infanticide," CBS News reported. NPR also cited a Kaiser Family Foundation report earlier this year that stated this.

During the debate, Harris evaded a query from Davis regarding her stance on any limitations of a woman's right to obtain an abortion.

"I completely back the reinstatement of Roe v. Wade protections," Harris stated. "It's important to note that no woman in America is carrying a pregnancy to term and requesting an abortion. This is not the case."

ABC News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
