Piers Morgan criticizes liberals' reaction to Dick Cheney endorsing Harris: "Absolutely ludicrous"
Liz Cheney and her father, former VP Dick Cheney, warn that Trump poses a threat to the republic.
Piers Morgan, a host on Fox Nation, discussed on "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday his reaction to Elizabeth and Dick Cheney endorsing VP Kamala Harris for president, attributing their decision to "Trump derangement syndrome." Morgan stated that liberals have gone to "completely preposterous" lengths in their opposition to former President Trump.
DICK CHENEY: This was Darth Cheney. Remember, they literally named him after the most evil villain in the history of Hollywood. That was Dick Cheney to liberal Democrats. And yet now, there's two strands to the hypocrisy. One, what is Dick Cheney doing endorsing the most progressive left-wing Democratic nominee in history? That alone is utterly ridiculous. And secondly, what is Kamala Harris doing suddenly embracing him like this is some great honor given the way the liberal Democrats have talked about him for the last 30 years? So every part of this is completely preposterous... it goes to the heart of what I think is really going on here. This is about Trump derangement syndrome.
We have discussed Trump's dementia for many years, and now, people are completely demented about him. As seen with Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney, they have abrogated their principles to support him. Despite this, the latest New York Times poll shows that Trump is ahead by 1% in the national poll. Interestingly, most voters view Trump as being in the center, while they see Kamala Harris as being too far left. Despite this, Dick Cheney has chosen to embrace Kamala Harris and officially endorse her. This makes no sense and is indicative of a mindset among some conservatives who will do anything, even destroy their principles, to not support Trump. I think this is ridiculous.
Last week, former Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who was once a rising Republican Party star and a top GOP critic of former President Trump, announced that she will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Cheney stated on Wednesday at a Duke University event in North Carolina that she does not believe it is feasible to write candidates' names in swing states.
She stated that, as a conservative who values the Constitution, she has given careful consideration to her decision not to vote for Donald Trump and instead support Kamala Harris due to the threat he poses.
The Trump campaign posted a four-year-old interview of Cheney on Planet Chronicle attacking Harris minutes after the Cheney news broke.
"At the time, Cheney stated that her voting record in the Senate was to the left of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, indicating her status as a radical liberal."
Former VP Cheney stated last week that in the 248-year history of our nation, there has never been a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He attempted to steal the last election through lies and violence after being rejected by voters. Cheney believes Trump cannot be trusted with power again.
