On the third anniversary of her son's death in Afghanistan, a Gold Star mom discloses what Trump said to her.
The Kabul airport suicide bombing, which claimed the lives of 13 American service members, occurred three years ago on Monday.
Paula Knauss Selph, a Gold Star mom, criticized the Biden administration for avoiding responsibility as she and other Gold Star families commemorated the third anniversary of the Kabul airport terrorist attack that killed 13 U.S. service members.
""On this day, we are all mourning the tragic outcome of the botched withdrawal that resulted in the death of Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss, as Selph stated on 'America Reports,'" said Selph, whose son died in the withdrawal."
"The lack of accountability has truly angered the nation. She added, "At least apologize for the lack of leadership.""
The mother, mourning her loss, concurred with Trump's statement that the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan has diminished the country's standing globally.
"We lost a lot of credibility in our nation and in our world powers," she told Planet Chronicle co-anchor Sandra Smith. "We have lost it. And the only way we will gain it back is if we become a world power again."
On Monday, Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the suicide bombing at Afghanistan's Hamid Karzai International Airport. A video on "America Reports" captured the former president laying flowers at the grave of Selph's son.
"Selph revealed that Trump called him after the incident and expressed regret for having to do it. He also reminded Selph that there are good leaders in the country who will take action when the time comes, and everyone will be grateful for the change of leadership."
On Monday, House Speaker Mike Johnson declared that he would present the Congressional Gold Medal to the families affected by the Kabul airport attack.
Selph said the decision "brings honor" to the 13 grieving families.
""Our nation will not forget the honor it brings," she told Smith."
On Monday, Vice President Harris issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the attack by naming the fallen and pledging to support the troops and their families. She acknowledged the pain and loss of the families, but believed that President Biden's decision to end America's longest war was courageous and right.
Shana Chappell, a Gold Star mom who spoke to Planet Chronicle on Monday, stated that her son would not be proud of the current state of the country he died protecting.
"The Biden administration is entirely responsible for my son's death, and now I see how our country is heading, which is not what my son fought for. He did not die to witness our country's decline," she stated.
Planet Chronicle' Taylor Penley contributed to this report.
