Lawrence O'Donnell praises Swift's wording as 'flawless' and 'perfect'.
On Tuesday, Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC praised Taylor Swift's endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, calling it "absolutely exquisite."
"It is crucial for those who will consume Taylor Swift's endorsement, including fathers of 8-year-old girls, to understand that she said she watched the debate. She did not make this decision yesterday, as this is a new candidate for all of us. She watched the debate, which lasted over 90 minutes, and thoughtfully considered the candidates before making her endorsement. The timing and wording of her endorsement are flawless and perfectly capture her thoughts on the matter, including the cat lady stuff."
Swift announced on Instagram that she will be voting for Harris because she believes Harris is a warrior who fights for the rights and causes she champions.
Swift's celebrity endorsement was the first one that O'Donnell liked.
After the debate between Harris and former President Trump on Tuesday, Swift posted her endorsement on Instagram.
"I have completed my research and made my decision. It is now up to you to do your own research and make your own choice. As a reminder, especially for first-time voters, in order to vote, you must be registered. Additionally, I suggest voting early as it is a more convenient option. I will provide a link to register and find early voting dates and information in my story."
Given that Swift supported Joe Biden in 2020, backed Tennessee Democratic candidates in 2018, and has publicly criticized Trump on multiple occasions, including accusing him of trying to destroy the right to vote, it wasn't surprising that she endorsed Kamala Harris.
Taylor Swift, in a recent post, mentioned Trump's running mate Sen. JD Vance and signed it as "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady." Vance's 2021 interview about Democrats and "childless cat ladies" has been used against him by his opponents since he joined the 2024 ticket.
Rachel Maddow of MSNBC pointed out endorsements for Harris from Republicans, including Dick Cheney.
"The coalition is very large, and it's the same campaign," she stated.
Officials and operatives from the Democratic party commended Harris's performance in the debate with Trump on Tuesday night.
After the debate, President Biden praised VP Harris as the best choice to lead the nation forward, stating that he was proud to have worked alongside her for three and a half years. He also emphasized that they were not going back.
