Former FOX Business host Lou Dobbs has died at the age of 78.
His X account statement portrayed him as a "fighter till the very end," who passionately battled for what he held dear most, including God, his family, and his country.
"Debi, Lou's children and grandchildren will forever remember him as a patriot and a great American. We ask for your prayers," it said.
"A spokesperson for Planet Chronicle Media stated that they are deeply saddened by the passing of Lou Dobbs. Lou was an exceptional business mind with a talent for broadcasting, and he played a crucial role in transforming cable news into a thriving and influential industry. The spokesperson expressed their profound gratitude for Lou's numerous contributions and offered their sincerest condolences to his family."
From 2011 to 2021, Lou Dobbs hosted the highly rated "Lou Dobbs Tonight" on FOX Business, after having previously worked at CNN for multiple stints.
On the same evening he will accept the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, former President Trump, a longtime friend of Dobbs, paid tribute to him in a post on Truth Social.
"Debi and Lou Dobbs' family are mourning the loss of their loved one, a talented journalist and friend. Trump paid tribute to the late Lou Dobbs, who was known for his unique perspective and deep understanding of the world. He was a true patriot who loved our country. The Great Lou Dobbs will be greatly missed."
