Despite receiving boycott calls from customers, a Las Vegas restaurant owner remains firm in his decision to host former President Trump for a press conference on his "No Taxes on Tips" policy.
Javier Barajas, the owner of the restaurant where President Donald Trump dined, expressed gratitude for the president's visit but also shared that he has been receiving negative feedback from TikTok users. However, he also noted that he has received positive responses as well.
Last month, the former president pitched his "No Taxes on Tips" policy at Mexican-Italian restaurant II Toro e La Capra, which is owned by Barajas.
A local outlet reported that he spoke positively of Trump and his idea at the time, and on Thursday, he doubled down on his support, telling co-host Carley Shimkus that he supports the GOP candidate's immigration policies and believes Trump will do more to support the working class.
The Hispanic community supports President Donald Trump because they believe he will improve the lives of hardworking individuals in the country.
He understands that the United States requires individuals to work, not to engage in delinquent behavior. We disapprove of President Biden's decision to allow millions of people to enter the country without thorough background checks.
In 2008, President Obama made promises to working people, but his administration failed to deliver on those promises.
Since President Biden took office, keeping his doors open has been challenging for Barajas, who trusts Trump more on the economy.
"Everything is very expensive," he said.
"Donald Trump, as a businessman, will surely improve things for us."
The Lindo Michoacan restaurants in the area are also owned by Barajas' family. President Biden visited one of the locations in July before announcing he would not run for president in 2024, according to KLAS-TV, a CBS affiliate in Las Vegas.
