Kamala Harris would be the "most progressive" president in history, says Michael Moore: "I feel so hopeful"
Filmmaker and activist Michael Moore is "ecstatic" about the possibility of electing Vice President Kamala Harris as the "most progressive" president in American history.
Moore stated in his Substack that he hasn't been as happy since he voted for Obama, hasn't felt as thrilled since Ben & Jerry's released Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream, and hasn't believed that America still has a chance since Nixon resigned in 1974.
"The outcome of the 2024 presidential election was considered a certainty two months ago, with a second Trump presidency appearing imminent. However, with only 69 days left until the November 5 election, I am optimistic that we will elect our first woman president and our most progressive one, despite Democrat operatives' objections to the term "most progressive.""
Moore stated that he felt like he was witnessing the end of the United States when President Biden collapsed during the June presidential debate.
In less time than the Challenger, Biden imploded during a speech, leaving a sad and broken shell of his former self. As we watched in horror, we knew that the election was over and Trump would return to the White House, marking the end of our Democracy.
According to Moore, a "miracle" happened when Biden decided to step aside and endorse Harris to replace him at the top of the ticket amid mounting pressure from Democrats.
Moore revealed that he initially pushed for Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to be chosen as Harris' running mate but later advocated for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz when it became apparent a woman wouldn't be selected.
The liberal filmmaker criticized Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro for comparing pro-Palestinian protestors in Philly to the KKK, paying hush money to silence sexual harassment allegations against one of his core cabinet members, and being opposed by 24 teachers' groups for his support of private school vouchers. As a result, he wanted Harris to choose the more liberal Walz.
Fortunately for Moore, he became enthusiastic upon discovering that Harris does not share the same view as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Moore wrote that the good news was that he had heard that Kamala had expressed her opposition to the deaths of innocent civilians in Gaza behind the scenes in the White House. Although she does not hold any power, her moral values are clear. She refused to attend Bibi's hateful speech to Congress last month and instead went to a sorority meeting. Moore believes that this will never be forgotten.
