Judge Judy delivers ruling on Trump v. New York case: "Rubbish"
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's case against Trump was deemed "nonsense" by Judge Judy.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's successful prosecution of former President Trump has been deemed "nonsense" by Judge Judy Sheindlin.
The renowned TV judge informed CNN host Chris Wallace that, as a "taxpayer in this country," she feels resentful towards Bragg for exploiting the system for his own personal gain.
In an interview that streamed Friday on Max, Wallace asked, "Is that what you believe the DA did in Manhattan?"
Sheindlin stated, "In my opinion, if you examine the situation closely, it was quite complex and required considerable effort to determine the nature of the crime."
Last month, a jury found former President Trump guilty of all 34 felony charges for falsifying business records during his 2016 campaign to hide a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, a pornographic performer, to keep quiet about their alleged affair in 2006.
If the district attorney of New York County were to focus on keeping criminals off the streets and out of public spaces, rather than spending millions of taxpayers' money on prosecuting Donald Trump, I would be happier as someone who owns property in Manhattan, Sheindlin said to Wallace.
The 81-year-old former Manhattan Family Court judge stated that she believed Trump was a successful businessman and real estate expert, and excelled on "The Apprentice."
Sheindlin, a political independent who supported former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, gave a more critical assessment of Trump's presidency.
"Sheindlin stated that she believes Donald should never have been president and that she also thinks he didn't believe he would become president."
