JD Vance urges Democrats to consider invoking the 25th Amendment if Biden is unable to continue serving as President.
An exclusive interview with Trump and Vance will be shown on Planet Chronicle Channel on Monday at 8pm ET, featuring Jesse Watters.
In an exclusive interview on Planet Chronicle Monday night, former President Trump and vice presidential hopeful JD Vance discussed the possibility of Democrats invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Biden from office.
According to Vance, speaking about the efforts of multiple Democrats to urge Biden to resign, he believes it is a coup attempt.
"The 25th Amendment provides a constitutional process for removing a president who is unable to discharge the powers and duties of their office. If Joe Biden is unable to run for president, he cannot serve as president. If there is a concern about his mental incapacity to serve, the 25th Amendment can be invoked. However, this should not be done for political gain. If it is a genuine issue, it should be addressed appropriately."
When asked if he considers the suspected secret attempt to remove Biden from power a "coup," Trump responded with a "sort of."
On Sunday, speculation about Biden's re-election campaign ended as he announced on social media that he would not run for president in 2024 and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
Prior to the political upheaval, Democrats urged Biden to relinquish his position for fresh leadership in order to prepare for a confrontation with Trump in November.
Some reports suggested that elite Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., also wanted Biden to exit the presidential race.
Several individuals, including Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Michelle Obama, Gretchen Whitmer, and JB Pritzker, have been frequently mentioned as potential Democratic nominees.
The identity of Harris' vice presidential running mate, should she become the Democratic nominee, remains undecided.
