JD Vance claims that Kamala Harris' decision to bypass Josh Shapiro indicates that she has "bent the knee to the far-left."
On Tuesday, Tim Walz was selected as Harris's running mate for the 2024 election.
JD Vance, the GOP vice presidential candidate, stated that Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her 2024 running mate is indicative of her far-left ideology.
"Vance stated on "Hannity" that he believes Kamala Harris' selection of a far-left governor as her vice president shows poor judgment and that she lacks the necessary skills to be President of the United States."
Vance claims that Harris' selection of Walz over Jewish Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro in the veepstakes race demonstrates her bending to the far-left of the Democratic Party.
"Kamala Harris' decision to choose Tim Walz is a clear indication that she doesn't care about the opinions of the American people," Vance stated. "She is only doing this to please the far-left radicals within her own party. This is a truly disgraceful moment for her."
He stated that he believes "antisemites" within Harris' party were responsible for the discussion on who should receive the running mate position.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Shapiro faced criticism from progressives due to his pro-Israel stance and an op-ed he wrote in college describing Palestinians as "too battle-minded to establish a peaceful homeland."
The aide of Harris refuted the claims that Shapiro was not selected because of criticism from progressives and anti-Israel activists, stating that the assertions are "absurd" and "completely unfounded."
"Josh Shapiro was almost chosen as a leader, according to the official," the outlet reported.
At a campaign rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Shapiro delivered an inspiring speech during the first joint appearance of Harris and Walz.
Vance stated to Sean Hannity on Planet Chronicle that it is not appropriate to select a vice presidential candidate based on their ethnic background.
"It’s profoundly anti–American," he said.
"Numerous grassroots activists and leaders within the Democrat Party advised against choosing this candidate because he is Jewish. I believe their statement. That's face value. And that is absurd for any American political party."
