James Carville discusses abortion, Tim Walz's tampon legislation, and the term "illegal alien."
James Carville was a guest on 'Hannity' for a comprehensive discussion.
James Carville, a democratic strategist, concurs with former President Clinton's stance that abortion should be "safe, legal and rare."
On "Hannity," Carville argued that limiting abortion can be achieved through "aggressive contraception" and "aggressive availability."
Since the Dobbs decision, the actual abortion rate has increased. I believe that Roe v Wade is correct as it considers specific rights during the first, second, and third trimesters.
In 2022, the Supreme Court reversed its landmark decision of 1973, which legalized abortion nationwide.
Carville was questioned by Hannity about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's signing of legislation that offers free menstrual products to students, with the claim that Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate intended to place them in boys' bathrooms.
"Carville stated that he would strongly disagree with any disagreement on the topic of offering tampons to students, and that he believes it is one of the greatest ideas he has ever encountered. He expressed his complete comfort with the idea of providing tampons for free to students in school."
The law signed by Walz mandates that menstrual products be made accessible to all female students in restrooms used by students in grades 4 to 12, as per a plan devised by the school district.
A group of six officials from Minnesota school districts informed The New York Times that they did not put menstrual products in boys' restrooms. Some students, teachers, and administrators stated that menstrual products are usually placed in three locations: girls' restrooms, gender-neutral restrooms, or the nurse's office.
The Robbinsdale district in the suburbs of Minneapolis has made free tampons and pads available in "nongendered" student restrooms and girls' restrooms for grades 4 and up, as well as from health staffers. However, menstrual products are not provided in boys' bathrooms.
Carville was questioned by Hannity about using the term "illegal alien" to refer to migrants who cross the southern border and enter the United States.
Carville stated, "I wouldn't call another human being an alien, but I believe we should have border laws. While I wouldn't use the term 'illegal,' I think it's appropriate to refer to them as 'undocumented.'"
"Perhaps it's my Catholic upbringing that makes me feel this way, but I can't help but find the term "alien" offensive when applied to another human being."
