Guinness World Records overlooked patriotic library story hour with a large attendance.
Despite Guinness not appearing, we held the world's largest story hour, as stated by Cameron.
The "See You at the Library" event, hosted by actor, author, and Christian activist Kirk Cameron, attracted a massive crowd on Saturday, potentially breaking a world record.
In June, a world record was set for the largest drag queen story hour, with 260 people participating. Guinness World Records recorded the event. We had 30,000 people over 350 story hours, and they were waving American flags. This makes me feel great, said Cameron to "Fox & Friends Weekend" co-host Pete Hegseth.
"Although Guinness didn't appear, we had the world's largest story hour yesterday. See you at the library," Cameron concluded.
The national event, initiated by Cameron and conservative book publisher BRAVE Books, unites families in prayer, singing the "National Anthem," and celebrating uplifting tales of patriotism and faith.
In July, BRAVE Books and Cameron aimed to break the world record for the largest children's library story hour, with the 2024 gathering being even bigger than the previous year's event.
Cameron elaborated on what happened next in a post to X.
Despite submitting our application three times and following up with promises of a quick response, we never heard back from The Guinness World Records team after over a month of trying to invite an adjudicator to attend See You at the Library on August 24th.
Despite the fact that our applications mysteriously disappeared from our account after each attempt, we will still gather and set our own record for family story time attendance. We will not let the fact that Guinness did not provide their services for drag queen story time during pride month deter us from achieving our goal. We will continue to gather and set a record that will be amplified across the media, showcasing the revival of American families in our libraries and nation.
Guinness World Records did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
Hegseth was informed by Cameron that he started See You at the Library with Brave Books after libraries refused to host Brave Book story hours because the events did not align with their values.
Although there was opposition, Cameron believes that thousands of families would attend their book signings. This led to the creation of a national event organized by parents nationwide.
Yesterday, I visited three places and was overwhelmed by the large number of people who deeply love God, their families, and their country.
He expressed gratitude that the values being celebrated were the same ones that made the country great, including faith, morality, education, law, and liberty.
