GOP attacks linking Kamala Harris to Biden are dismissed by liberal media as insignificant.
Politico raised eyebrows for suggesting that JD Vance is attempting to link Kamala Harris to Joe Biden.
The media seems to be making a concerted effort to distance Vice President Kamala Harris from the Biden administration, which she is a part of.
On Tuesday, Politico reported that attacks were being made by Republican vice presidential candidate Ohio Sen. JD Vance.
Politico posted on social media: "Vance tries to link Harris to Biden's corruption during Michigan rally."
The website of Politico was given a Community Note stating that Kamala Harris is currently President Biden's Vice President, with a link to the White House's website confirming her position as Biden's No. 2.
Other outlets, like Politico, suggest that Republicans are linking Harris to Biden.
The GOP is attempting to link Harris to Biden on economic, immigration, and border issues. However, a Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll shows that most Americans believe she had minimal influence on the Biden agenda.
The Associated Press reported on how Harris is "straddling two positions" as both an incumbent and a change candidate.
"Kamala Harris is currently the sitting vice president who has been in office for 3 1/2 years. She is also the Democratic presidential candidate who promises a "new way forward" after being on the campaign trail for just five weeks."
The AP reported that in every presidential cycle, candidates run on experience or freshness, but Harris seems to be successfully blending both messages, which has frustrated former President Donald Trump and his allies.
The media's effort to distinguish Harris from the Biden administration stems from its previous rejection of her "border czar" moniker, which she was commonly associated with prior to her becoming the Democratic presidential candidate.
Last month, Axios' report about the "border confusion" that has plagued Harris went viral, stating that the Trump campaign and Republicans have repeatedly labeled her as the "border czar" despite her never holding the title.
Axios was among the news outlets that incorrectly labeled Harris a 'border czar' in 2021, but later corrected the mistake.
Symone Sanders, a former chief spokesperson for Kamala Harris in the Biden administration and current MSNBC host, categorized the border czar claims against her former boss as "misinformation" about the VP.
"Sanders stated that people will have to challenge the misinformation and clarify that she was not the "border czar." She had done diplomacy in Central America, but the campaign needs to emphasize this."
Jonathan Karl of ABC sang from the same sheet of music, stating that the Republicans mislabeled her as the border czar, even though her job was to handle the migration from Central America. However, they will depict her as the one responsible for the border, which is a top priority for Republicans.
In 2023, Karl praised Harris' role in stopping the flow of migrants across the border, but in 2023, the tone was drastically different.
