Florida lawmaker compares calling Kamala Harris a "DEI hire" to using the "N word, racial slur."
On Monday, Florida Democrat Rep. Maxwell Frost informed CNN that she is qualified.
Florida Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost stated on Tuesday that referring to Vice President Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, as a "DEI hire" was akin to employing a "racial slur."
"DEI" is an acronym for diversity, equity and inclusion.
"The campaign against the vice president is expected to be racist and misogynist, but we will focus on the issues and the fact that she is qualified, as Frost stated on "CNN Newsroom.""
He remarked that they want to label her as a DEI president, a DEI candidate. She has more experience than Trump and J.S. Vance combined times a million, correct? She worked at the state level and served as the attorney general.
Harris' "DEI" comments were labeled as "racist dog whistles" by Frost.
Frost stated that the term "DEI" is a racist dog whistle that refers to the "N word" and racial slurs.
Rep. Burchett's comments about Harris being a "DEI hire" were made after he suggested that she was chosen as vice president solely due to her race and gender in an interview with CNN on Monday.
"Burchett told CNN's Manu Raju, "She is a DEI hire, and her record is abysmal at best.""
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green criticized Kamala Harris for being selected as Biden's vice presidential candidate solely based on her race.
Greene stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that she was not selected because she was highly ranked among Democratic voters nationwide. Instead, she believes her gender and possibly her skin color played a role in her selection.
Some people are referring to Harris as a "DEI hire," while other GOP officials think it would be more effective for Trump to attack her in other ways, such as her poor performance in the 2020 Democratic primary and her criminal record in California.
After President Biden concluded his re-election campaign and backed Harris to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Harris declared that she had secured the nomination within less than 36 hours.
The vice president expressed pride in earning the necessary support to become their party's nominee in a social media post early Tuesday morning.
Harris secured the support of over 2,000 delegates for the upcoming Democratic National Convention, which takes place in Chicago on August 19th.
The Democratic National Committee will likely finalize Harris' nomination within the next two weeks through a virtual roll call of delegates.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from Rep. Frost's office when requested a comment.
Planet Chronicle' Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.
