Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson commends Trump's resilience in the face of an assassination attempt: "We desired to witness that."
Johnson stated that he will not back any presidential candidate in 2021.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stated that the image of former President Trump standing up in the face of his assassination attempt was a moment the country desired to witness.
Last week at The Value Conference in Florida, Johnson, a keynote speaker, was asked about his thoughts on the assassination attempt, given that he had met Trump during his wrestling days.
Johnson stated, "Regardless of whether you support or oppose Donald, the attempt to assassinate him is unacceptable. Although we may have been different in that moment, I believe as a country, we are not defined by that. Seeing him stand up at that time was what we wanted to witness."
Trump was previously a fan of him and used to watch his fights in New York City.
At Madison Square Garden, I often wrestled and he would come to watch me. It was great. The first time I met him, he said, "Let me see the eyebrows," joking about the popular meme featuring his eyebrows.
Johnson's publicist refused to provide any further comment to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Despite previously supporting President Biden in 2020, Johnson stated on "Fox & Friends" with Will Cain in April that he regretted the division caused and would not be endorsing a candidate this year.
He stated that the endorsement he made with Biden years ago was what he believed to be the best decision for him at that time.
""Will I repeat that action this year? No, I won't. I won't do it because I realized that it caused division, which still hurts me now," he said to Cain."
After months of reflection, I came to the realization that my actions caused significant division in our country. As a result, I have decided not to endorse any candidate in the upcoming election. My goal is to unite our country, which is deeply ingrained in my DNA. Therefore, I will not endorse any candidate in the spirit of bringing our country together.
He continued, "Although I'm not afraid of it, I realize that this level of influence. I'll keep my politics to myself, and I believe it's a personal matter between me and the ballot box."
