CNN's fact-checking of Trump was due to ABC's Linsey Davis allowing his statements to "hang" during the first debate.

During the debate, Trump was fact-checked five times by ABC moderators, while Harris was not fact-checked at all.

In a post-debate interview, ABC News anchor Linsey Davis admitted that her fact-checking of former President Trump was influenced by the earlier CNN debate that went poorly for President Biden.

David expressed her desire to tackle the issue of Trump's statements remaining unchallenged during debates, as seen in the CNN debate between Trump and Biden in June.

According to The Times, Davis, who was wearing pink glasses while speaking to the newspaper over breakfast at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia, stated that the decision to try to correct the candidates was a response to the poor performance of President Biden during the June 27 CNN debate with Trump, which led to his exit from the race.

According to Davis, there were concerns that statements were not being disputed by candidate Biden or the moderators at the time.

The LA Times praised Davis as a "rising star" who "held Trump accountable."

In a viral moment, Trump was sternly reprimanded by Davis, who stated that "no state in this country allows the killing of a baby after it is born," in response to Trump's reference to former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's remarks suggesting that a live baby could be killed after being born following a discussion between the physician and the mother.

One pro-life group demanded a correction from ABC News, stating that Davis' comments were "100% inaccurate" while liberals celebrated the moment.

Despite being criticized for bias towards Vice President Kamala Harris, both Muir and Davis have been slammed for appearing biased during the debate. The moderators fact-checked Trump five times but failed to correct Harris on any errors she made during the debate on Tuesday evening.

Trump accused the ABC moderators of bias during the presidential debate, stating on Fox & Friends that it was a "rigged deal" with a three-to-one advantage for his opponents.

Despite not fact-checking Harris, Davis claimed that his team planned to verify the facts of both candidates during the debate.

The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia hosted the much-anticipated event, and Davis, co-moderated by David Muir, had meticulously prepared by studying hours of campaign rallies and interviews to counter the candidates' most problematic statements.

The Times reported that Davis defended against accusations of bias by saying that she and Muir couldn't catch every mistake, but none of Harris' incorrect statements were criticized.

The outlet reported that Davis ignored criticism that she was assisting Harris and shut off her social media accounts.

"I am aware of the stereotype that I can't be unbiased while covering this moment, and the anonymous Instagram people serve as reminders every day," Davis stated.
