Brit Hume discusses the turmoil within the Democratic Party and suggests that Biden should consider dropping out: "They're in a state of total agony."
Nine House Democrats have urged Biden to abandon his plans to run for president in 2024.
Brit Hume, the chief political analyst at Planet Chronicle, commented on the increasing demands for President Biden to abandon his plans to run for president in 2024, citing concerns about his mental abilities. He stated that the Democratic Party is currently experiencing a "state of total agony."
"According to Hume, people now view him as someone who is not qualified to serve a second term, even if he can complete his current one. He expressed concern about the Democrats' ability to address this issue, given their current state of distress."
According to The Associated Press, nine House Democrats have urged Biden to abandon his 2024 presidential bid following his poor debate performance in late August.
On Wednesday, Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., was the first Democratic senator to publicly urge Biden to withdraw "in the best interest of the country."
Biden will hold a press conference at the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to address concerns about his mental abilities.
Biden will have a significant press conference, according to White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby, who spoke to Martha MacCallum on "The Story" on Planet Chronicle.
"Kirby confirmed that the press conference would have more than four reporters present, and Biden would be the only speaker, calling on them one by one."
Biden will face significant pressure ahead of his press conference, as Hume predicts it will be challenging for the president to reverse course after his poorly received debate performance.
Hume stated that the impression left by the debate, along with other events that occurred before it, which the public was aware of but the media was not, have left a lasting impact. He expressed hope that the president would have a successful news conference tomorrow.
"This NATO event is undoubtedly significant, and he appears to have managed it competently. However, I believe it may be too late."
