Black Kamala Harris supporters and anti-Israel activists clash online over identity politics.
A TikToker issued a tearful warning that a Black woman in the presidency would not save the country.
On TikTok, Black Americans and Israel's critics are clashing over the Democratic nominee's stance on the Gaza war.
The Israeli military response to the October 7 terror attack in Gaza has caused a rift within the Democratic Party and the political left, with much of the criticism directed towards the party leadership, including the Uncommitted movement. Despite Vice President Kamala Harris' new role as the party nominee and her efforts to rally Black support, the division over Gaza policy persists.
TikTok and other platforms are the battleground for Black Americans who passionately back Harris to clash with anti-Israel protesters, who contend that the election of a Black woman to the presidency does not benefit the Palestinian people if she maintains Biden's pro-Israel stance.
"TikToker Rosol.s, who is not American, expressed his frustration with Americans using identity politics in a viral video with over 26,000 likes earlier this month. He added that it is "f---ing insane" that a Black woman in the presidency will not save them, and he does not support voting for Trump."
The activist stated that Black Americans, like any race, contribute to oppressing their own people.
"Every race in America has oppressed us," she said. "Black people also wear a uniform and get on a plane and come to our countries and kill us. You vote the same melanated people to government that sign papers to kill us. I don’t want to hear it anymore."
She accused Black Americans of being brainwashed and playing into the toxic agenda of identity politics, which she claimed was killing people.
Tori Grier on TikTok stated, "These individuals believe they are entitled to Black people's support regardless of their actions, and they have the audacity to dictate our voting choices while disregarding our own interests."
One social media user on X wrote a post arguing that they are struggling to adapt to the unconditional support for Israel from MAGAs while Black women democrats are posting about not caring about genocide. What is happening?
The response to the video shared by a Black content creator was an argument that "Black people do not believe in allyship because as soon as we do something you don't like, your anti-blackness comes out." The speaker added that "it is f---ing asinine for y'all to sit here demanding of Kamala, Black people, or anybody."
One argument against the claim that a potential Trump presidency would be worse is that Harris is responsible for Biden-era policies.
""Guys, feel free to vote for whoever you want, but please refrain from discussing Donald Trump's actions on Palestine. Kamala Harris is more responsible for the genocide than Donald Trump, and your repeated and loud statements that genocide is not a dealbreaker for you are problematic," pro-Palestinian activist @notyourlawyermd stated on TikTok."
The New York Post reported that British Muslim TikTokker @pistachiochaii criticized liberals for using anti-blackness to defend the US empire and accused them of wanting a token ethnic president after Harris' nomination. Although she maintained her stance on her criticism, she later clarified in a video that the term "token ethnic" did not refer to Black people.
She criticized Harris, but acknowledged that doing so has resulted in significant opposition.
"She has made it clear that she will not impose an arms embargo and has been bought out for $5 million by AIPAC. It is evident where she stands. I will no longer discuss this matter as I am subjected to the most horrific abuse and my safety is at risk."
