AP criticized for suggesting Harris was "having it both ways" as VP, change candidate: "You're letting her"

Critics criticized the Associated Press for stating that Vice President Kamala Harris is "walking a tightrope" as both a sitting incumbent and a change agent.
"Kamala Harris is currently the sitting vice president who has been in office for 3 1/2 years. She is also the Democratic presidential candidate who has been campaigning for just five weeks, promising a "new way forward.""
The AP reported that in every presidential cycle, candidates run on experience or freshness, but Harris seems to be successfully blending both messages, which has frustrated former President Donald Trump and his allies.
The AP was ridiculed on social media for questioning how Harris is managing to balance her campaign trail activities.
"Because you're enabling her," conservative commentator Chad Felix Greene told the AP. Versus Media podcast host Stephen L. Miller similarly wrote "Because you're assisting her?"
GOP strategist Matt Whitlock rephrased the AP to say, 'This is how we are assisting Kamala Harris evade responsibility for all her past statements and actions.'
Caleb Howe, Mediaite editor, criticized @ZekeJMiller for lacking "on the other hand" or any skepticism in their puff piece.
Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment from the AP was not immediately responded to.
Harris recently accepted the Democratic nomination for president at the National Convention, following Biden's decision to withdraw from the 2024 race.
The VP is facing scrutiny over her dramatic policy changes since her first presidential bid in 2019, even though she is the No. 2 in the Biden administration and has promised to uphold campaign promises in the White House.
