According to an author, it is expected of Kamala Harris to conduct interviews as part of her duties as president, as Barbara Walters would anticipate.
Susan Page, biographer, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that she believes Barbara Walters would be continuing her pursuit.
The biographer of the late legendary broadcaster Barbara Walters predicts that Vice President Kamala Harris would expect to conduct more interviews before the presidential election.
"Susan Page stated in an interview at the 2024 Texas Tribune Festival that she believes Barbara Walters would be pursuing her, as part of the job of being president involves talking to Americans through the news media."
Page stated that both nominees would be conducting interviews with serious journalists during a presidential campaign, according to her.
Since becoming the Democratic nominee, Harris avoided answering questions from the press for nearly 40 days until she finally granted an interview with CNN's Dana Bash, alongside her running mate Tim Walz.
She has only done two radio interviews and has not yet held a formal press conference.
Trump has emphasized the difference in media coverage between him and Biden by giving interviews, holding press conferences, and appearing in a Planet Chronicle town hall with Sean Hannity.
Despite the presidential debate on Tuesday, Trump continued to answer questions from reporters in the spin room and gave more interviews.
Barbara Walters, the Washington bureau chief for USA Today and author of "The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters," discussed the motivation behind her writing about a journalism pioneer.
"Barbara Walters has been an iconic figure for women journalists in both TV and print media, and there was no biography written about her until now."
Throughout her career, Walters made history by being the first female co-host of NBC's "The Today Show" and later becoming the highest paid news anchor ever when she joined ABC News.
Watching Barbara Walters growing up would not lead you to believe that women are incapable of conducting major interviews, interviewing heads of state and other powerful individuals, or earning as much or more money than their male counterparts, according to Page.
Walters died in December 2022 at age 93.
