A group of citizens in New York successfully apprehended a migrant accused of raping a 13-year-old.
The father of the Queen of England has joined 'America's Newsroom' after the arrest of a 25-year-old Ecuadorian man.
A man from New York City is speaking out after he and his friends assisted in apprehending a suspected rapist who attacked a 13-year-old girl in broad daylight.
According to Daniel Ramos, who spoke on "America's Newsroom" Thursday, the community is happy with the outcome because there are many activities happening around them, making them feel safer.
He informed hosts Sandra Smith and Bill Hemmer that their goal was simply to ensure the safety of the community.
This week, the NYPD arrested 25-year-old Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi after a group of community Good Samaritans, including Ramos, cornered him and made a citizen's arrest.
Inga-Landi has confessed to raping the girl and recording it after kidnapping her and another 13-year-old boy, as stated by the district attorney.
Ramos stated that Inga-Landi was a regular customer at a nearby store where he and his friends would often gather. After hearing about the incident, Ramos deduced the situation and his group devised a plan to catch Inga-Landi.
Ramos explained that he went straight to the location after leaving work, and about 20 minutes after arriving, he saw the person he was expecting.
"Jeffrey and Angela were in the store when my friend came. They saw him and took him out of the store. We tried to apprehend them in the store, but then caught him outside."
As many as 10 residents assisted in detaining Inga-Landi until police arrived. Cops later removed him from under a car where he was concealed.
Ramos stated, "Although he attempted to say 'let me explain,' we weren't interested in hearing it. There was nothing significant to explain."
"He committed a heinous act by harming an innocent 13-year-old girl. As such, we do not approve of his behavior."
If convicted, Inga-Landi could face up to 25 years to life in prison for charges such as rape, kidnapping, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Ramos stated that he has two daughters, so he doesn't engage in such behavior when it comes to kids in general, especially when it involves doing something like that to innocent kids. He finds it disgusting for someone to even consider doing such a thing.
At his arraignment on Wednesday, Inga-Landi did not enter a plea and was ordered by the judge to be remanded without bail.
