Wendy Williams makes a public appearance for the first time since revealing her dementia and aphasia diagnosis.
In New Jersey, Wendy Williams, 60, was observed.
Wendy Williams has not been photographed in public for nearly a year and six months since her team announced her diagnosis with dementia and aphasia.
Last week, Williams, 60, reappeared in New Jersey at a holistic shop with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. The photo of Williams smiling with the store's owner generated online buzz. The shop is a favorite among Hunter Jr., who is friends with the owner.
The store's manager informed Planet Chronicle Digital that Hunter Jr. aimed to demonstrate to his mother the aspects of natural living, particularly herbs.
Williams, who posed for a photo with a bouquet of flowers, white moon boots, and signature pink lipstick, was described as "bubbly" and "super friendly" by him.
"She was incredibly strong and sharp in conversation, and she moved independently without any concern about her physical condition."
The manager admitted to Planet Chronicle Digital that he was taken aback by the inquiries about Williams' health because she appeared to be in good health.
Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment from a Williams representative was not immediately responded to.
In February, Williams' health struggles were publicly shared by her team.
Wendy Williams has been open about her medical struggles with Graves' Disease and Lymphedema, as well as other significant challenges related to her health. She has taken several absences from her talk show, "The Wendy Williams Show," beginning in 2017 after fainting on air. During an episode in 2019, she revealed she was living in a sober house.
Wendy's ability to process information has been questioned, and speculation about her condition has arisen, particularly when she exhibited erratic behavior, difficulty understanding financial transactions, and began losing words.
"In 2023, Wendy was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and FTD after undergoing numerous medical tests. Aphasia, which affects language and communication skills, and FTD, a progressive disorder that impacts behavior and cognitive functions, have significantly impacted Wendy's life."
After announcing her diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), Williams expressed her gratitude for the support she received, stating in a Planet Chronicle Digital statement, "I am deeply grateful for the love and kind words I have received. Your response has been overwhelming, and the messages you've shared with me have touched me. I hope that others with FTD may benefit from my story."
"I want to express my gratitude to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration for their kind words of support and their exceptional efforts to raise awareness of FTD. Although I still require personal space and tranquility to flourish, I want you to know that your positivity and encouragement are greatly appreciated," she concluded.
Williams has also spoken openly about her struggles with alcohol and drug abuse.
