Tony Danza reveals Frank Sinatra's 2 AM admission about his distinctive singing voice.
Tony Danza, known for his role in 'Who's The Boss?', will appear in a forthcoming cabaret show titled 'Tony Danza: Sinatra & Stories'.
Tony Danza is one of the few individuals who can claim to have spent a night drinking whiskey and smoking cigarettes with the late Frank Sinatra.
The "Who's The Boss" star, who is currently promoting his new cabaret show, "Tony Danza: Sinatra & Stories," revealed intimate details from his early morning conversation with the legendary singer after a night of partying in a new interview with The New York Times.
The actor remembered how he was drinking Jack Daniel's neat and smoking Camels one after another, so he asked the person, "Frank," which was strange to say at 2 in the morning while drinking, and he inquired, "Does the smoking and drinking ever mess with your voice?"
Danza said, "I’ve never met a singer worth his s--- who didn’t smoke two packs a day."
Ever since he could remember, Danza has idolized Sinatra.
"He revealed that his mom introduced him to Sinatra and taught him about the nuances of his music, saying, "Listen to how he sings this part.""
The 73-year-old actor was eager to get Sinatra to appear on "Who's The Boss."
Danza managed to make it happen by approaching Tina Sinatra at a renowned restaurant in Los Angeles, as stated by Danza.
"Danza stated, "The following day, I received a call stating that Sinatra would perform the task." "I am unsure as to why he chose to do it, but when he arrived on set, I informed everyone that he only takes one shot. Anyone who disrupts the shot will be killed.""
Danza remembered the time when everyone was stiff, and they took the shot. It was good, and then Frank asked, "Do you want another take?" Everyone looked at Danza like he was a dope.
On Sept. 10, Café Carlyle in New York City will host the kickoff of Danza's cabaret show.
"Mr. Danza stated that he was not attempting to imitate the show's performer in any way. He explained that they had new arrangements of the songs and that he would not be singing like the performer. Instead, he would take charge and approach the stage with confidence, as the performer did. He emphasized his individuality and his determination to make a statement with his performance."
